“Which tree grows the fastest?”

A better question is:
“Which tree will survive here and provide the greatest long-term environmental benefit?”
Some extremely fast-growing species may consume substantial water, perform poorly in unsuitable climates or provide less ecological value than locally appropriate alternatives.
