Shisham is one of Pakistan's important indigenous trees and is particularly well suited to the plains, foothills and suitable riverine environments of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Monsoon plantation is generally suitable in many areas. Local rainfall, nursery advice and site conditions should always be considered before planting.
